Mattra Inc. ("Mattra," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at mattrainc.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit or use our Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have regarding your information. Please read this policy carefully. By using our Site, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you use the Site.
1a. Information You Provide
We collect personal information that you voluntarily submit through our Site. This includes:
- Contact forms: your name, email address, phone number, property address, and the message or service inquiry you submit.
- Scheduling requests: your name, contact details, and preferred appointment date or time.
- Project calculators and rebate tools: square footage, project type, and income tier selections you enter to generate an estimate. We do not require you to create an account to use these tools.
- Email capture (if enabled): your email address, if you choose to submit it to receive an estimate, guide, or other content.
- Phone calls: if you call us at (207) 777-6020, we may note your name, contact information, and the nature of your inquiry.
1b. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by our servers and third-party tools. This may include:
- Log data: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small data files placed on your device that help us understand how visitors use the Site. See Section 5 for more detail.
- Analytics data: aggregated information about Site traffic, page views, session duration, and user behavior, collected via Google Analytics or similar services.
- Device information: general information about the device you use to access the Site, including screen resolution and device type.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiries and service requests, and to schedule free in-home assessments.
- To provide estimates, project information, and follow-up communications related to your inquiry.
- To send you information you have requested, such as rebate guides or calculator results, if you have provided your email address for that purpose.
- To improve the Site -- understanding how visitors use our pages helps us make them more useful and easier to navigate.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.
- To contact you about your project, including by phone or email, based on information you have submitted.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to send unsolicited marketing emails to people who have not contacted us or opted in to receive communications from us.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in limited circumstances:
Service Providers
We work with third-party companies that help us operate the Site and run our business. These may include website hosting providers, email delivery services, scheduling software, customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and analytics providers. These service providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and are required to keep it confidential.
Efficiency Maine and Rebate Programs
If you engage Mattra for an insulation project and choose to apply for Efficiency Maine rebates, we will prepare and submit rebate documentation on your behalf. This involves sharing your name, property address, project details, and measured R-value improvements with Efficiency Maine as required by the rebate program. We will inform you of this sharing before submitting any documentation.
Google Services
Our Site uses Google Analytics to understand Site traffic and user behavior. Google Analytics collects anonymized data about your visit using cookies. This data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy. If we embed a Google Map on the Site, Google may also collect information about your interaction with the map. You can learn more at google.com/policies/privacy.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or investigate fraud.
Business Transfers
If Mattra is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via a prominent notice on the Site if this occurs and your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected -- typically for the duration of our business relationship with you plus a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up inquiries or legal requirements. Contact form submissions and inquiry records are generally retained for up to three years. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are legally required to retain it (for example, for tax or contractor licensing purposes).
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We and our third-party service providers use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: required for the Site to function correctly, such as remembering form entries or maintaining session state.
- Analytics cookies: used by Google Analytics to collect anonymized information about how visitors use the Site -- which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and where they came from. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
- Functional cookies: used to remember your preferences and improve your experience on the Site.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Site. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing ones -- see your browser's help documentation for instructions. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites, including Efficiency Maine (efficiencymaine.com), financing partners, and other resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit through links on our Site.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at the address below.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our Site uses HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information, and you provide it at your own risk.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include:
- Access: the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: the right to request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: the right to request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt-out of communications: if you have received email communications from us and no longer wish to receive them, you can unsubscribe using the link in any email or by contacting us directly.
- Do Not Track: some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Our Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, but you can disable tracking through your browser's cookie settings as described in Section 5.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12 below. We will respond to verifiable requests within a reasonable time frame, typically within 30 days.
