How Income Tiers Affect Your Rebate
Any Income
Every Maine homeowner who installs qualifying insulation through a certified contractor earns $1,000 to $2,000 for each area insulated. No income verification required. This is the baseline rebate that applies to all qualifying projects.
Moderate Income
Homeowners with Adjusted Gross Income up to $70,000 (individual) or $100,000 (joint) earn $1,500 to $3,000 for each area insulated. Income verification is required. Contact Efficiency Maine directly or ask us during your assessment — we can help determine whether you are likely to qualify.
Low Income
Homeowners who participate in HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) or SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) earn the highest amount per area — $2,000 to $4,000 for each area insulated, up to $8,600 in total for eligible households.

The lifetime limit is one insulation rebate and one air sealing rebate per area, capped at $8,600 per home ($5,600 per mobile home).
