Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 10, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at mattrainc.com (the "Site") operated by Mattra Inc. ("Mattra," "we," "us," or "our"), a licensed contractor based in Maine. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Use of the Site

The Site is provided for informational purposes and to allow you to contact Mattra, request estimates, use project calculators, and learn about our services. You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit anyone else's use of the Site.

You may not use the Site to:

  • Post or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its related systems.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Site without our prior written consent.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious or disruptive code.

2. Estimates, Calculators, and Project Information

The project cost calculators and rebate estimators available on the Site are provided for informational and budgeting purposes only. Outputs from these tools are estimates based on typical Maine cost ranges and publicly available Efficiency Maine rebate percentages. They are not quotes, guarantees, or binding commitments of any kind.

Actual project costs, rebate eligibility, and rebate amounts depend on your specific home conditions, verified square footage, measured R-value improvements, and Efficiency Maine program approval. A free in-home assessment is required before Mattra can provide a firm project estimate.

Information provided on the Site about Efficiency Maine rebates, financing programs, and other incentives is subject to change. We make reasonable efforts to keep this information current, but you should verify current program terms directly with Efficiency Maine at efficiencymaine.com or by calling (866) 376-2463.

3. SMS and Text Message Communications

This section governs text message (SMS) communications between Mattra Inc. and individuals who have opted in to receive such communications. Mattra's SMS program is registered under A2P 10DLC (Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code) with U.S. mobile carriers.

3a. Program Description

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive SMS communications from Mattra, you may receive text messages related to the following:

  • Appointment confirmations and scheduling reminders for free in-home assessments or project installs.
  • Follow-up messages regarding your service inquiry or estimate request.
  • Project status updates and completion notifications.
  • Information about Efficiency Maine rebate documentation or program deadlines relevant to your project.
  • Responses to questions you have submitted via our contact form or by text.

We do not send promotional broadcast marketing messages to opted-in customers. Our SMS communications are transactional and conversational in nature, related directly to services you have requested or a relationship you have initiated with us.

3b. How to Opt In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from Mattra in any of the following ways:

  • By submitting your mobile phone number through a contact form, scheduling form, or calculator on this Site and checking the SMS consent checkbox where provided.
  • By texting a designated keyword to our business number (207) 777-6020.
  • By verbally or in writing confirming your consent to receive SMS communications during a phone call or in-person interaction with our team.

By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number provided and that you are 18 years of age or older.

3c. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interaction with us. You may receive up to 5 messages per month related to your inquiry, scheduled appointment, or active project. During active project phases, message frequency may be higher. We will not send unsolicited recurring promotional messages.

3d. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates charged by your mobile carrier apply to all SMS messages sent to or received from Mattra. Mattra does not charge a fee to participate in our SMS program. Contact your mobile carrier for details on your plan's messaging rates.

3e. How to Opt Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages from Mattra at any time by replying STOP to any text message you receive from us. After sending STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and will be removed from our SMS list. You will not receive further messages unless you opt in again.

You may also opt out by contacting us directly at (207) 777-6020 or through our contact page and requesting to be removed from SMS communications.

3f. How to Get Help

For help with our SMS program, reply HELP to any text message you receive from us. You will receive a response with our contact information and instructions. You may also contact us directly at (207) 777-6020 or mattrainc.com/contact.

3g. Consent Is Not a Condition of Purchase

You are not required to consent to receive SMS messages as a condition of purchasing services from Mattra or scheduling a free in-home assessment. You may request our services, receive estimates, and engage Mattra for work without opting in to SMS communications.

3h. Sharing of Opt-In Data

Your SMS opt-in consent and mobile phone number will not be shared with, sold to, or used by third parties for their own marketing or messaging purposes. This information is used solely by Mattra Inc. to communicate with you regarding your inquiry or project. For more information about how we handle your personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

3i. Supported Carriers

Mattra's SMS program is supported by major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others participating in the A2P 10DLC ecosystem. Carrier support may vary. We are not responsible for delays or failures in message delivery caused by your carrier or network conditions.

4. Intellectual Property

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, TOOLS, AND INFORMATION PROVIDED ON IT ARE OFFERED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. MATTRA MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT ON THE SITE, INCLUDING COST ESTIMATES, REBATE CALCULATIONS, AND PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION.

We do our best to keep information current and accurate, but conditions change -- rebate programs are updated, material costs fluctuate, and program availability shifts. Always verify important financial and program information directly with the relevant program administrator before making decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MATTRA INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RELIANCE ON ESTIMATE OUTPUTS, REBATE CALCULATIONS, OR OTHER INFORMATIONAL TOOLS PROVIDED ON THE SITE.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mattra Inc. and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Maine, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Before initiating any legal action, we encourage you to contact us directly at (207) 777-6020 to attempt to resolve any issue informally. Most concerns can be addressed quickly through a direct conversation.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
